About the Role
Tronox is seeking motivated and safety-focused Mine Operators to join our production team at the Wonnerup Mine Site, located in the beautiful South West region of Western Australia, just minutes from Busselton.
This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced operators looking to hang up the FIFO boots, while continuing to work in a mining environment, with the benefit of being home every night. As a permanent, full-time team member, you will play an important role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of one of Tronox's key mineral sands mining operations.
Working on an even-time roster of 2 days, 2 nights, followed by 4 days off, you will be responsible for operating mobile plant equipment, primarily 982XE/920IT/938IT Loaders while assisting with pit operations and the execution of daily mine plans.
The role requires the ability to work autonomously, maintain a strong focus on safety and environmental compliance, and contribute positively to team objectives. You will conduct routine equipment inspections, identify basic maintenance requirements, and collaborate with supervisors and colleagues to ensure production targets are achieved efficiently and responsibly.
Due to fatigue management requirements, applicants must reside no further than 45 minutes from Wonnerup Mine, as there are no camp facilities available at site.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience front-end loaders (920, 930 and 980 series).
- Additional experience on operating large dozers (D10, D9) or other mobile plant highly regarded
- Previous Fixed Plant experience not essential, though highly regarded
- Relevant heavy equipment licenses and certifications.
- Strong understanding of earthmoving processes including grading, site preparation, and interpreting project plans or drawings.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and a strong commitment to safety.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform in outdoor environments and operate heavy machinery for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work across varying rosters and proven ability to adapt to changing tasks, priorities, and team dynamics.
- Willingness and capability to work shift work on a continuous even-time roster.
