About the Role

 

Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, you will lead the contract specialist team to ensure a robust and efficient contract management system which delivers value and reduce risks to the business.  This includes defining contract management standards, deploying KPI’s and monitoring performance in line with global procedures.

 

The team you will lead are responsible for all contracts to support Operations covering 8 operational sites in multiple states and a range of categories, including site services, raw materials, MRO, other goods, site capital and logistics. Key responsibilities;

 

 

  • Lead the development of procurement strategies including contracting models, sourcing approaches, and early engagement plans
  • Oversees the contract specialist team, development / performance management; develops talent, builds high performance culture
  • People management: develop an effective and high performing team including a shared team purpose, goals, and enhanced capabilities
  • Continuously review the contract portfolio and allocation of priorities to the group, in order to align with capability and the prioritised requirements of the business.
  • Manage and coordinate contract administration activities, providing contract administration resources to support business and ensuring that all aspects of the contract during the tender and execution phase are addressed with the objective of contributing to optimize cost.
  • Drive and execute cost savings and cost avoidances initiatives for the business.
  • Develop and maintain contract management standards, guidelines, procedures, end to end processes, tools, templates and enforce site wide adherence.
  • Conducts assessments of business and market conditions to determine sourcing needs & opportunities for cost/service improvement
  • Evaluates and manages strategic sourcing relationships with key suppliers to optimize value, sustainability and business continuity
  • Establishes effective KPIs; monitors performance of the SC function processes and initiates improvements as required
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with regional and local regulatory requirements. Drive sustainable procurement improvement.
  • Supports development of the team’s profile through timely sharing of key activities, results and requests to interested stakeholders.

 

 

About You

 

Essential

  • 10+ years in contracts / commercial roles with 3+ years in a similar role
  • High attention to detail and analytical rigour
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proven ability to manage vendor and contractor relationships and coordinate across disciplines
  • Deep understanding of commercial frameworks, risk management, and regulatory compliance
  • A proactive mindset focused on value, performance, and continuous improvement

 

Desirable

  • Background in mining or industrial environments
