About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our Finance team on a permanent, full time basis. Reporting to the Manager – Financial Accounting, this role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance and control activities across a diverse portfolio of operations.

You will play a key role in the month-end close process, preparing journal entries, lease accounting, accounting adjustments, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance. The role involves analysing financial results, investigating variances, supporting statutory reporting and audits, and assisting with regulatory obligations including BAS, FBT, royalty returns and ABS reporting. You will also support international reporting requirements, process foreign exchange transactions, complete SOX control activities, and contribute to maintaining strong internal controls. As part of a continuous improvement focus, you will identify opportunities to enhance processes, drive automation, and improve efficiency across the finance function.

There are options for this position to be based at our Northshore Mineral Separation Plant or Australind Pigment Plant in Bunbury, or our Kwinana Pigment Plant in Kwinana, working a compressed 9-day fortnight. This role provides exposure to statutory reporting, external audits, SOX compliance, SAP, and multinational operations. It is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to further develop their technical accounting and business partnering capabilities within a global organisation.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with CA or CPA qualification (or currently studying towards completion).
  • Demonstrated experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (IFRS and US GAAP highly regarded).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with experience using SAP or other ERP systems (highly regarded).
  • Strong reconciliation, financial analysis and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
